The deadline for entries is extended to 3/31/01. Those who have already made a movie are requested to submit their full size render by then also. If you haven't made a movie yet please consider doing so. Your contribution makes everyone's effort more meaningful and something the entire Cinema 4D community can share in and enjoy. |

Welcome to the Redball Project. To participate in the Redball Project, all you have to do is download the Cinema 4DXL Redball file and create a short animation that begins and ends with the ball in the original position and lighting. Animations length should not greatly exceed ten seconds. Once you have completed your animation, submit a 200 x 150 pixel fifteen frame per second rendering of it for display on this site. Important: Render using the camera supplied with the scene, not with the editor camera. Once a sufficient number of entries have been collected we will then ask participants to submit a second rendering of their project which is 720 x 486 D1 aspect 30fps. Due to the size of these final renders we ask that you please be prepared to ship them US Mail on CD or Zip. These final renders should be uncompressed quicktime animation or tiff sequences. To make a D1 aspect ratio movie, enter .9 (point nine) in the first pixle entry box and 1 (one) in the second. If you are unsure about how to do that, please email me. |

Send your 200 x 150 pixel 15 frame per second completed renders to michael@mvpny.com. Use either sorenson, mpeg, or MotionJPEG compression. Please try not to exceed 1MB file size. Please try to give your movie a unique name having eight characters or less and having the suffix .mov if QT, or .mpeg if MPEG. Please flatten the movie.. To flatten a movie using Quicktime just use the save as command in the Quicktime player and check both the Make Self Contained and Play on Other Computers checkboxes. This will make a copy of the movie which is flattened. Please follow these rules carefully. It is too much work for me to make sure your movie is web ready. |
